2007 Butterfield Double Century Results

After two consecutive years of pouring rain, the 2007 Butterfield Double Century finally got some sunshine - and lots of it. Record heat and a bit of Santa Ana winds added to the challenge of this 200-mile course through Orange, San Diego and Riverside Counties. 

The 150 riders who started, were treated to what will likely be the last version of this Butterfield route, which over the years has been negatively impacted by urban development, construction and congestion, especially in the last half of the course. We'll be investigating alternate routes - and look forward to coming up with something new and wonderful for 2008.

Kudos to first place finisher Keith Brodsky, who smoked the course in 10 hours 43 minutes. At the finish line, Keith said that he dedicated his awesome ride to the memory of his brother Bruce, who passed away recently.

Congratulations to first time double riders James Cawthon, Alan Darnell, Suzy Degazon, Brandy DeLuca, Steven Elliott, Edward Gallegos, Mani Harihara, Jon Lieberg, Alan Ptak, Perry Spetz and Kevin Tilden. (There may be others - but these folks let us know.)
